The term Renaissance Man is defined as “a very clever man who is good at many different things“1 in one place. In another place it stated that the “idea of a Renaissance man developed in Italy and derived from Leon Battista Alberti’s notion that “a man can do all things if he will.”2 The latter definition however is strongly associated with a humanistic worldview.

If you met Selwyn for the first time in the last two years he may say to you:
Ich heiße Selwyn und ich spreche ein bisschen Deutsch. Ich lerne Deutsch mit Duolingo.
Selwyn’s debut book, Obadiah’s Secrets, a self-published Christian semi-fiction novel, was released in November 2021. He says that:
For me, it’s very difficult to describe what it’s about. It can mean different things to different people. If you’re older, it may speak to different areas in your life compared with a person who is younger. If you’re a Christian it will resonate differently compared with a non-Christian. You just have to read it. It’s an epic journey, it’s a first-time experience every time you read it.

He doesn’t like to talk about his academic qualifications too often.

It’s important, but I think that there are more important things. Yes, I have a Masters degree from the Arthur Lok Jack Global School of Business, a BSc. in Management Studies and a certificate in Management Information Systems from The University of the West Indies. Yes, I’ve obtained several I.T. certifications but most of them are only valid for three years, and because I am constantly doing different things, renewing these certifications are not practical for me. I started an EdD. but had to withdraw after the first year, well … because work, family, and ministry had higher priority at the time.
If you ask him, as a Christian, “How can a person reconcile science, such as quantum physics, with the existence of God?” He may say that:
One can argue for the existence of God in several different ways. As an armchair scientist I can begin by examining the statement “God is light”. He is also described as personifying love and being three distinct personalities yet one (in essence) God, but we will put that aside for now.
If we then take the fact that Bosons, as opposed to Fermions, can exist in the same “space” without affecting each other and use that as a point of reference for God’s general revelation in creation, we may come to an interesting conclusion.
An example of a Boson is light (more specifically, a photon). Two beams of light can cross each other (exist in the same space) without “bumping into” each other. This is not true for Fermions, like crossing streams of water from two hoses. It seems that these two beams of light act as if the other isn’t even there.
If this is true for beams of light, is it that difficult to imagine a being that exists outside of our physical reality but is still able to, an in fact is, crossing our path every day? This is by no means proof of the existence of God, but it is proof that what is impossible on one level of reality (streams of water) is possible on another level of that same reality (beams of light).
The apostle Paul in Romans 1:20 made the following statement:
“For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:“
I believe that as we understand the operations of the quantum world more, the possibility of a God, as described in the bible, becomes more scientifically probable.
The question, “Who is Selwyn V. Aguillera?” often gets the response:

Well, it depends. I’ve done so many things over the years it’s difficult to narrow things down. The answer seems to be an untiring moving target.
My first job was in the security/policing field. I spent 5 years doing that. In 1999 I switched to I.T., but I.T. in an educational institution. I’m still doing that. My degrees are in business and management. I’ve been happily married since 1998 and have developed a marriage workshop and a few other “Deeper Christian Life” workshops. I also developed a parenting program and constantly give parenting advice. I’m an author of three self-published books (including formatting and cover artwork) with several more on the way. I paint; I build things for my house; I build websites, like this one; I preach the Gospel, I motivate people and equip them to achieve specific goals.
So, it depends. At one time I can be an I.T. consultant to a small, medium or large business. At another time I can be a business consultant, or an educational consultant, or a motivational speaker, or spiritual advisor, or anything that is needed at the time.
